Placements at the Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B) saw a 3% rise in students placed. According to the sources, the number of international offers from MNCs and foreign players also rose by 40%, from 64 to 80.

Many global firms LinkedIn, Twitter and Michelin also hired from the campus.  This year more students were placed in most programmes.

About72% students from the BTech course got placed in the first phase while last year 65% students got placed last year. 240 companies came for campus placements in the first phase.

Companies preferred to hire students in dual degree programmes the percentage of students with offers stayed static at 78%, compared to the last academic year.

Sriram Bhargav, a computer science student, has bagged an offer of $1,50,000 (Rs80 lakh) from Samsung US/Korea.

In the second phase which started in the second week of January, 50 offers have been made.
