About 7.26 lakh students will be appearing for the entrance exam  NEET UG 2013. It is estimated that about 1.5 lakh candidates will appear for the entrance exam.

The exam will be conducted on May 5.  However in Karnataka, the exam will be conducted on May 18 due to the Legislative Assembly elections.

State wise number of students taking the exam

Maharashtra- 1.5 lakh

Uttar Pradesh -88,500

 Kerala -71,000

Andhra Pradesh – 68,000

Rajasthan -57,000

In Karnataka, the exam date has been pushed to May 18 as the election commission has announced May 5 as the date for the elections to the Legislative Assembly.

Paper Pattern

The NEET-UG 2013 Entrance Examination  will  consists of one paper which will  contain 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology).

There shall be 45 Questions each from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and 90 Questions from Biology (Botany and Zoology
